Going to have a christmas chop!

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, I've been a tad busy!
So recently my hair has been driving me crazy! So I thought I'd do something different, I dyed it red.. Or should I say I tried too!, it didn't go so well as I am now a not so attractive shade of gingery/orange at the root ! Note to self do not do a drastic home hair dye in future! Now I'm just hoping it will wash out and be less orange! But I'm now seriously considering getting a bold bob! Very much like or the same as Fearne Cottons latest look!



Although I'm not blonde I seriously love this length as it's short but not too short that you can't do anything with it. My only worry is if my huge glasses might not go ! But I'm sure I'll make it work some how!

Little bit of Prep!

Hey bloggers!

So, I'm really loving the preppy look of this year and the how simplicite it can be to make a simple outfit preppy or even if you just want to look a little bit smarter! you see although i have big glasses that either make me look "Brainy" or a "Geek"  i never really look or dress smart I'm definatley a rushed dresser! I just through anything on and hope for the best!
BUT yesterday I thought I'd actually think of what I'm going to wear today as I had xtra time so here's my hopefully slightly preppy look!

I'm wearing my old faithful studded slipper's/loafers (they seem to get called different things everyday) that are from topshop, My pale pink blazer from missguided.com, a pale pink and pale grey skulled scarf from new look and a floral dress from dorothy perkins!
And for once I'm wearing my hair natural and down! which I hardly ever do if I'm wearing my blazer, I always seem to think it looks odd! please excuse my weird smile!

Little bit of autumnal colour to brighten this british weather

Hey Bloggers!

I am absolutely in love with the ciaté caviar manicure particularly the black set, and at £18.00 I really want to invest in it! But its sold out everywhere! :( massive sad face! So i came up with an Autumnal replacement! And with O.P.I you really can't go wrong!

 

I have used O.P.I's Diva of Geneva which without the flash on my camera is really a deep red, where as on this photo it appears to be a deep purple which I suppose in a certain light it is quite purpley! I have used O.P.I's Servin' up Sparkle on one nail as I though if it was on all nails it would be a bit too much! I went for the simpler approach! I though this colour was not only perfect for Autumn/Winter but perfect for Halloween! as they're quite a dark colour but pretty! It'll stay on for a while as well because O.P.I nail varnish doesn't come off until you want it too! which I really adore as i cannot have bare nails. It kind of creeps me out too tell you the truth! everybody needs a bit of colour and glitter in their life; my little bit is always on my nails or shoes!

Winter Warmers!

Hey guys!

Winter has to be my all time favourite time of year!
I literally love everything! Ok maybe not the ice and rain but snow is so pretty! and fun! I'm like a little kid all over again when it comes to this time of year, I know it's apparently still autumn but it's cold enough to be winter! Therefore I am dressing as if it is winter! And here are my personal Winter Warmer Essentials!

For me this is the cutest winter outfit ever, we have here a pretty woolly jumper from Dorothy Perkins in the sale! That will go with so many different looks. It could be worn with demin jeans and these cute studded boots from missguided.co.uk which is a favourite of mine and a snood which I rely on so bad in winter! but I couldn't find any I liked this time :( sorry guys! Or you could wear this with a cute shirt with a collar which would also add a layer for this lovely British winter! Or you could go for the easier option with this Jewellery collar from topshop which goes with soooo many different things but i love collars and jumpers together at the moment ! It's like granny/geek chic! I love it! and to top of this perfect winter warmer an essential for this winter is a leather satchel especially for everyday anyway!

Just lose a little..

Hey bloggers!

So, I'm on slimmingworld! just thought I would give it ago and see if I lose anything and I have! 6lbs! crazy considering I eat so much! guess I was eating the wrong things! :')

You see I love food, like totally love food, when I'm upset I'm defff' an eater not a sicker! If you all know what I mean! And considering all I eat I'm not HUGE well in my opinion anyway :) I'd just like to have a nice pair of legs! Yano that type of legs that look amazing in skinny jeans! Because if they ain't skinnys I don't wana wear um! Anyway back to my chubby obsession with food. On slimmingworld you need to eat loads and that was no problem for me the problem was cooking! I can't cook! i can make the odd pasta bake and bake a batch of cute cupcakes but not proper meals! SO I attempted baking bread... out of a packet of course but still I made it! :) It's 'wholemeal' or to everyone else brown bread! and it was beauttt!

 

I've also replaced my late night ice cream binge with frozen yogurt! It's so good I was a bit stand offish to begin with but was highly surprised! I used a Muller light raspberry & cherry flavour (so nice!) but it does look odd when i comes out of the fridge freezer! Trust me it's beaut you should try it!

Ramble Ramble Ramble

Hey guys/gals!

So, it's called Megan's Mind Matters so I thought I'd have a bit of a moan/ramble!
I'm not sure why but I love certain fashion aspects just not particularly on me! 'cos personally girls/guys most trends don't suit me! but goggley glasses just don't go with everything! which I have disgustingly learnt! oh the amount of fashion faux pas I've had is ridiculous! but i suppose haven't we all eh :)

I went out around my local lovely area of Hull this weekend (I do hope you caught on with the sarcasm) and thought I'd go for the female boss look! I teamed big hair and red lips with:
Wet look  Aztec leggings (Matalan £15) 
A white shirt with a pearly crocheted collar (Select £15),
Big chunky black wedges (Pilot £20)
A cute pink studded clutch which I'd borrowed off my friend
Also an Aztec type necklace which you cannot particular see in my poor quality photo! (Select £1 !)

It's safe to say this was my bargain outfit! I was flapping around all Saturday day thinking I had nothing to wear so I got my favvvv wedges and some leggings I'd never worn and went on the mission to find the perfect shirt! I never though wearing a shirt would flatter my figure because I'm all tummy you see and I thought it might expose this not complement it which this shirt did and thoroughly proved me very wrong! Although these leggings once you've been dancing all night tend to fall down a lot! which was irritating! But considering this outfit was under £100 I'm pretty proud of my collaboration of studs and preppy, which are two fashions that I love and can never seem to dress myself in I always have the odd shirt or the odd pair of studded shoes but never the full entire outfit that screams "Gothic studs & grunge" or "preppy and pretty" it's always a mix and match which I hope works!

La lucky charm

My mum bought me this 4 leaf clover antique style necklace from www.zarataylor.co.uk one christmas and it's soooo cute! I love it i wear it wayyyy too much! It especially goes with my "granny style" jumpers and cardi's which I love so much! I also wore this in hope that it would give me good luck in passing my theory today but it didnt' :( oh well!

This website has loads of cute&crazy jewelry that I want so bad! I could literally buy everything on the whole website! It's not the cheapest but the quality and the short period in which it takes to be delivered is really good so i suppose it adds up eh! :) the Long chain I have is also re-usable for other pendants on the website with is really useful and clever so I may have to start a collection! I highly recommend Zara Taylor and so does Fearne Cotton! she has been seen multiple times with Zara Taylor jewelry pieces, and personally i love Fearnes style!

Studs and Smiles!

Hey, I'm Megan and I thought I'd just have a little blog about a few thoughts of mine, I'm a little weird and a little out there at times but I'm sure you'll get used to it once you carry on reading!

 

So, I'm what you may call your typical nerd I have the big glasses the books the everything! but I don't mind because that's the look I aim for, if someone says you look like a nerd or a grandma today I very much appreciate it and in fact take it as a compliment. I wear my grandma's cardigans from years ago and i love collars! My glasses are for sure my safety blanket!
I have a huge passion for vintage jewelry it's ridiculous! and i also love cute rings with various animals on! as long as it matches i love it ! i can't wear gold jewelry with silver it really make me cringe! no joke!

 

This winter I am all about the big jumpers and cardi's with a leather satchel and a pair of cute loafers but I also love the grungy look of leather jackets, silver jewelry and studs! Oh how I adore studs! Like these cute studded "slippers" as they are labelled!  they are soooo comfy and were only £25 with student discount :) but without they're only £29.99 i think :) Topshop! always a saviour when it comes to a comfy pair of shoes!

 

But a more going out effect for studded are also my favourite this year as they up your outfit immediately! they instantly add "rock" and "Grunge" to your outfit! and for my personal liking I am a LouBou girl! oh how I wish I had these beautiful shoes! I would have a huge smile on my face!

So, first post done sorry if it's short i'm new to this so i'll get better i promise!
